If you don’t try anything else, a pastrami and pickle bagel is something you should have at least once. The ultimate delicacy of diners, pastrami has its roots in Turkish, East European and Jewish cuisine and then was given a bit of a weak to make it sound more like other Italian meats. Made from beef it was traditionally cut from belly end of the brisket which contained more fat.
The beef is cured in brine, left and then rolled in spices to create the delicious coating. The finished article is often served with coleslaw, salad and pickles.
